The Twins

Several months back I found an ad on a local yard sale site that someone had a vintage settee they were getting rid of  for 15.00! I was so excited as I contacted the lady and told her I would pick up that day. When I arrived she had not just one but two and offered both for 30! Mr. C and I loaded them up in his truck and brought home what I refer to as the "twins"! Here they are as we brought them home..

And here is one, they were old and dirty and just plan gross. But I loved them and it took time for me to decide what to do. We removed the old material and it was so dirty and just fell apart. I thought and thought how I wanted to proceed with them and decided on the first twin we would paint her black and add one long cushion instead of the two small ones.  I worried about taking away from her true vintage feel..but in the end..well I loved her.

I picked out a black and white french toile and it just fit her personality.

And here is the first twin..she came out better than expected and I so look forward to redoing her sister now., I know she will be white but past that I am unsure. Will I stick to her traditional two seats or will she also get the full bench seat? Time will tell.

Look at those arms and legs!

As much as I love her she will be on the market and will find a new home, the twins will be split but I know they will make two families very happy!

They look lovely! I saw a bench exactly like those at a local barn sale. I noticed it because it's quite similar to the bench on my front porch too! Twin #1 looks lovely in black!

It looks awesome! You did a great make-over! I'm sure it'll sell fast! It sorta made me cringe, seeing it so near a pool! Knowing my luck, it would have totally ended up in there! Ha!
