Neighbors Trash

On garbage day last week as hubby took out our trash he noticed a table in one of the neighbors trash. And of course knowing me he grabbed it.  I wish I had the before pic but I forgot to take it, but this was a cute maple table. I am guessing she was tossed to the curb because she was outdated and had a wobble. We primed her and hubby fixed the wobble.

Painted her a bright white, taped off the edge..

Now the pretty lady is a chalkboard table. Perfect height for kids to sit on a stool or on the floor and chalk draw away!

Check out her pretty legs and scalloped skirt!

I can imagine her with lots of kids just having a hay day around her. Drawings, tic tac toe, hangman or how about drawing roads and houses and letting your matchbox cars go on a trip!!

Good for Hubby--keeping salvageable goods out of the landfill! The chalkboard top is a clever idea and one I'm sure the kids will love.

I LOVE you took what was destined for a landfill and made it into such a wonderful table - sure to bring hours of fun memories for the right household.

Well done!

THANK YOU for caring and making the world a better place...one project at a time. And give your hubs a hug for it, too.

Oh my word, this turned out cute!! I love the idea of a chalkboard table. I especially like how you taped off the edge for a border around the chalkboard:)

You have a good husband! Love how you used the saying "Trash to Treasure" quite literally here!
Enjoy your lovely new table!

What a great idea! I've been mourning the end of summer and the fact that I'll have two bored preschoolers fighting over the toys- if I do something like this they can chalk draw their little hearts out inside! Thanks for sharing your idea!

It looks awesome. We have a truck that drives through our subdivision the night before trash pick up. I love the idea that he finds things to repurpose or fix rather that letting them go to the dump. Good job on your table!

Glad your hubby saved that one! Such a cute table after it's makeover! Thanks for sharing at Gettin' Krafty!

Just adorable. When I saw the thumbnail picture at the party, I first thought this was a bed tray and what a cute idea to paint the top chalkboard. Well, I was surprised and happy to see it's a larger little table, but you just gave me an idea for my bed tray!
