Chalkboard Coasters

Both my kids were home for the weekend from college and it was wonderful. I so look forward to having the family together on weekends like these.  But because I spent time visiting, shopping and cooking, my projects took a backseat until this afternoon. I had several of these 12 cent white tiles leftover from another project so I decided it would be fun to make some chalkboard coasters.

First the tiles were primed.

I than painted the backs and edges with black paint. Do you love my oatmeal box as my painting table. that's what happens when your watching football!

Next I painted the tile with several coats of chalkboard paint!

ta daaaa..all done and ready to put aside for a hostess gift.  I added little felt feet to protect furniture.

Tied them up with twine and chalk! This gift is really cheap  inexpensive! Hope you had fun with my afternoon project. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Cute idea! I just picked up some tiles from our Habitat Store--I think I may need to use chalkboard paint on some of them!!
Found you over at Craft-O-Maniac!

These look fabulous- great gift idea!

I made similar ones with chalkboard paint using some old cork backed coasters.

This is the cutest idea ever. I have a football party coming up and I will be sure to create these and give them as parting gifts. I love the idea. Thanks so much!

So, so cute! May I ask what you primed them with? I have a bunch of ceramic tiles, & would love to do something with my grandchildren.

This is a brilliant idea for helping to identify every one's drinks (assuming they remember to use a coaster, lol)! Thanks for sharing!
