Bench Love

I found this tired old bench/stool for just a few bucks. I loved her legs and the unusual kidney shaped seat.  What I didn't like was she was pretty beat up and her fabric seat had been covered in plastic that was coming apart.

But she had great bones and she was solid!

After removing a million staples, I found out the seat was supported with leather straps that were cracked and some broken. So Mr. C cut some wood to fit and put in several supports.

I already had the fabric from another project which I love! I painted her a deep black, added new foam to her new wood seat, new batting and the fabric. She turned out better than I had imagined.

Isn't she a doll? Now to find her a new home.

Thanks for stopping by and come back again!!

Curb Find!

One day Mr. C and I were out driving around just enjoying some time together when we came upon this treasure sitting at the curb. Really a cute telephone table / gossip bench on the curb??? We quickly stopped and looked at one another knowing what each was thinking.  We backed up and parked and Mr. C went to the door and asked if we could take it. They wonderful answer was YES!! We loaded her up, spider webs and all and brought her home.
After we took her apart, sanded and sanded, primed, painted and added new foam, batting and fabric she looked beautiful.  Its sad to think she would have ended up in a landfill when she had so much life left in her. Check out those sexy legs!! Now she has a new lease on life.

Goodwill Chair Revamp

I ran into my local Goodwill and spotted this sad little lady..she was all shaky and her seating was falling apart and she was only $5.00.  I was thrilled and grabbed her up. I loved the bamboo looking wood and thought she could be a real beauty again.

Don't you love the bamboo look? Even sideways? LOL

I found this fabric and loved the colors, it was as if it was made for my little chair!
Tightened her up. painted her a deep black and recovered her seat. I think she looks pretty sassy now! Thanks for stopping by!

Updated Mirror

I found this 70's mirror at a thrift store, fell in love with the detail and as I took it off the wall realized it was a molded plastic. But since I could not tell by looking at it, I figured no one else would either!

I took this pretty lady home, primed her, added a coat of white paint to her and than glazed her with a coffee colored glaze. I removed the mirror,  had hubby cut some wood and painted with chalkboard paint. All put back together I love her look.
